Adult Participant Indemnity & Liability Waiver

Event: Soweto 76 Walkathon — 10 October 2026 — Basa Combined School, Protea Glen.

Organised by Walkathon NPC t/a Soweto 76 Walkathon (Reg: 2026/064365/08).

1. Fitness & participation

I confirm that I am 18 years or older and, to the best of my knowledge, physically fit to take part in the community walk. I will follow marshal instructions and event rules.

2. Assumption of risk

I understand that walking events carry inherent risks including slips, trips, traffic-related incidents, weather, and medical events. I participate voluntarily.

3. Indemnity

I indemnify and hold harmless Walkathon NPC t/a Soweto 76 Walkathon, its directors, employees, volunteers, and service providers from loss, injury, death, or damage arising from my participation, except where caused by their gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

4. Medical treatment

In an emergency I authorise reasonable first aid and emergency medical treatment if I cannot consent at the time.

5. Media & POPIA

I consent to photos/video of the event being used for legitimate promotional purposes, and to processing of my personal information for event administration under POPIA.
